errr. let’s review my resolutions:
1. vegetarians 2 days a week – for the past week i’ve had 5 vegetarian breakfasts (and one macd’s big breakfast and one skipped breakfast), 3 vegetarian lunches (admittedly one was a grab-and-go muffin with bubble tea!), and 1 vegetarian dinner (only because my mom ate up all the bak ku teh).. all in all, FAIL. maybe i should revise it to eating 2 vegetarian breakfasts/lunches/dinners?
2. shutting down my laptop on even days – done, and exceeded! i shut down my laptop on tuesday and haven’t switched it back on! however.. i’ve been surviving on the incredible battery life of my work-laptop. which i only put into hibernate mode. whoops.
3. chuck out an item of clothing – err. currently KIVed because of unexpected guests sleeping in my room. and i’ve been relegated to my brother’s room. (who is, incidentally, spending the night in camp.) will update on this.
4. to cook/roast/bake whatever – still being KIVed too… been busy this week. maybe next week?
oh yea. i went to JB yesterday! i had an overseas holiday! it included the prerequisite long journey (a bit of a jam over the causeway and a 5k ride into the depths of JB…), exciting rides (2 x 10 mins of go-karting, with one bonus skidding off the tracks!), sumptuous dinner (yum yum, sambal sotong, sambal stingray, sambal crayfish, for less than SGD10!) and being scammed by a local (.. a cab driver went off with our money and didn’t come back to pick us up).
oh yes. also had the obligatory meal at secret recipe (half-priced cakes!) - tried the pumpkin soup (tasted like mild curry, probably would taste great with white rice), black pepper lamb pie (more spicy than i could handle, but pretty good for a filler) and had a slice of chocolate banana cake (yummy as always!) to go.
